A notable feature of the Tulip Garden is its impressive collection of tulips, sourced from the renowned Keukenhof tulip gardens of Amsterdam. Approximately 1.5 million tulip bulbs, adorned in a kaleidoscope of colors, were carefully brought to Kashmir, adding a touch of Dutch elegance to the valley. Alongside tulips, the garden boasts 46 varieties of other flowers, including hyacinths, daffodils, and ranunculus, all of which were also imported from Holland.

With around 68 varieties of tulips gracing its landscape, the garden has become a vibrant tapestry of colors during the blooming season. When you visit, you are treated to a visual feast as you stroll through the terraced marvel, witnessing the tulips and other flowers in full bloom against the backdrop of the pristine Dal Lake and the Zabarwan range.

The primary attraction of the Tulip Garden is, of course, the blooming tulips. To witness the garden in its full glory and enjoy the vibrant display of colors, it is advisable to visit during the peak blooming season.

The best time to visit Tulip Garden in Srinagar is April, however, the garden may be open to visitors from late March to early May to capture the entire blooming period. Here are some tips for visiting Tulips Garden in Srinagar in April:

1. Expect to spend 1-2 hours at the Tulips Garden as it is a fairly large garden.
2. Food is not allowed in the property.
3. Tulip Garden has good toilet facility on the property.
4. As it is an open garden with tulip plants, which are mere shrubs, you will not find shaded places to sit.
5. Carry an umbrella or a hat, wear your sunglasses, and sunscreen. When we visited it was not very hot, but we could feel the glaring sunrays piercing our skin. As it’s mostly tulip plants, there is hardly any trees to offer you any shade.
6. Visiting in the late afternoon, after 3:00 pm, will be ideal if the weather is sunny.
7. Wear comfortable walking shoes as there will be a lot of walking involved.
